Naves is a central French town and municipality ( commune ) with 119 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Allier department in the north of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Vichy and the canton of Gannat (until 2015 Ébreuil ).

Naves is located in the Bourbonnais landscape about 27 kilometers west-northwest of Vichy . Naves is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bellenaves in the north and northwest, Taxat-Senat in the northeast, Charroux in the east, Saint-Bonnet-de-Rochefort in the south and southeast, Vicq in the south and Valignat in the west.

The A71 autoroute runs through the municipality .
