The Roman Catholic listed chapel Klöslefeld (also: Chapel Frastafeders ) is in the district of Frastafeders in the market town of Frastanz in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . It belongs to the parish church of Frastanz and thus to the dean's office of Feldkirch in the diocese of Feldkirch .

The building ( 558  m above sea level ) was built according to the inscription on the chapel in 1962 and is about 600 meters as the crow flies from the village center of Frastanz. The chapel replaced a wayside shrine that previously existed here.

Surname

The Klöslefeld (also: Klöslesfeld or Kläslefeld) is a large parcel in Frastafeders above the chapel, in which the castle hill on which the Frastafeders castle stood is also located. The street Klöslefeld also begins at the chapel.

Church building

The architecturally modern and light-open chapel stands at a crossroads at the beginning of the Frastafeders district and has a rectangular basic shape with a protruding gable roof in a north-west / south-east orientation. In the northwest is the entrance and the rectangular bell roof turret. The altar is in the southeast. The gable roof is covered with plain tiles and is about eight meters long and 5.4 meters wide. The chapel itself (without the bell ridge ) is about five meters high ( roof ridge ).

There is a cross on the approximately two meter high bell ridge. The roof is hammered in with copper .

The soffit of the roof of the chapel is made of medium brown wood and was used together with the rafters as a design element for the interior of the chapel. The chapel itself is plastered white on the outside and has a simple entrance door with a viewing window. The interior of the room is exposed to light through several windows and skylights. A round window was inserted above the altar , which creates interesting light effects.

A sculpture of the Mother of God with Child serves as the altarpiece , underneath a simple wooden table stands as an altar.

In front of the chapel, to the left of the entrance, a commemorative plaque was put up with their names to those who died in the two world wars in the district.

In 1999 the chapel was renovated with the help of Hans Purin .

Location and traffic

Frastafeders and the Klöslefeld chapel are off the main traffic routes. The chapel is at the intersection of Frastafedener Straße (coming from Frastanz) and Klöslefeld . The Klöslefeldbach flows underground in front of the chapel.
