Lenax is about 53 kilometers southeast of Moulins on the edge of the Bourbonnais countryside . Lenax is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Donjon in the north and northwest, Neuilly-en-Donjon in the northeast, Le Bouchaud in the east, Montaiguët-en-Forez in the south and Loddes in the west.
