Liernolles is about 35 kilometers southeast of Moulins and about 30 kilometers northeast of Vichy . Liernolles is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saligny-sur-Roudon in the north, Monétay-sur-Loire in the northeast, Saint-Didier-en-Donjon in the east, Le Donjon in the south, Montcombroux-les-Mines in the southwest and Saint-Léon in the west .
