Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux is located about 15 kilometers south-southeast of Moulins . The Luzeray River runs along the northern boundary of the municipality . Saint-Gérand-de-Vaux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bessay-sur-Allier in the north and north-west, Gouise in the north, Treteau in the east and south-east, Montoldre in the south and south-east, Saint-Loup in the south and La Ferté-Hauterive in the west .
