Pierrefitte-sur-Loire is located about 52 kilometers northeast of Vichy and about 38 kilometers east-southeast of Moulins . The Loire limits the municipality to the north. Pierrefitte-sur-Loire is surrounded by the neighboring communities Gilly-sur-Loire in the north, Perrigny-sur-Loire in the north and north-east, Saint-Agnan in the east, Coulanges in the east and south-east, Saligny-sur-Roudon in the south and south-west as well Diou to the west and northwest.
