Bransat is a French municipality with 512 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the canton of Souvigny and the Arrondissement of Moulins .

geography

Bransat is located in the north of the Auvergne in the historic Bourbonnais province , about 29 kilometers south-southwest of the city center of Moulins and about 25 kilometers north-northwest of Vichy . Bransat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Meillard in the north, Verneuil-en-Bourbonnais in the northeast, Saulcet in the east, Louchy-Montfand in the southeast, Cesset in the south and Laféline in the west and northwest.
