Voussac is a French municipality with 480 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Moulins and the canton of Gannat .
geography
The municipality is located in the Bocage Bourbonnais countryside , around nine kilometers east of Montmarault and 18 kilometers west of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule . Neighboring communities of Voussac are Deux-Chaises in the north, Le Theil in the northeast, Fleuriel in the east, Monestier in the southeast, Target in the south and Saint-Marcel-en-Murat in the west.
The place itself is on a hill above the Venant River , a tributary of the Bouble . The eastern part of the hill is covered by the state forest of Vacheresse (French: Forêt Domaniale de Vacheresse ). All the water that rises there is collected by the Musant and Le Veauvre streams and also drains into the Bouble.
