geography
Molinet is about 54 kilometers northeast of Vichy and about 47 kilometers east-southeast of Moulins . The Loire limits the municipality to the north. The Vouzance , which also flows into the Loire here, and the Canal latéral à la Loire flow through the municipality . Molinet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Motte-Saint-Jean in the north and northeast, Digoin in the northeast, Chassenard in the east, Saint-Léger-sur-Vouzance in the south, Le Pin in the southwest, Coulanges in the west and Saint-Agnan in the northwest.
