Gipcy is a French municipality with 238 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Moulins and the canton of Souvigny .
geography
The municipality is located about 25 kilometers west of Moulins . Neighboring municipalities are Bourbon-l'Archambault in the north, Meillers in the east, Noyant-'Allier , Tronget and Rocles in the south, Saint-Hilaire in the south-west and Saint-Aubin-le-Monial in the north-west.
A small ridge stretches across the municipality. This causes the small brooks in the northern area to drain towards the Allier towards the northeast, while the waters in the southern part of the Cher towards the west. The Étang de Chalonnière reservoir is also located here , but it is only partly in its own municipality.
