Villeneuve-sur-Allier is a French commune with 1,071 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Moulins and the canton of Yzeure . The inhabitants are called Villeneuvois .
geography
Villeneuve-sur-Allier is located in the Sologne bourbonnaise landscape , around twelve kilometers north-north-west of Moulins . The Allier limits the community to the west. Villeneuve-sur-Allier is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Tresnay in the north and northwest, Toury-sur-Joury in the north and northeast, Aurouër in the east, Trévol in the south and southeast, Montilly in the south, Bagneux in the west and southwest and Aubigny in the west and Northwest.
The National Route 7 runs through the municipality .
Since 1853, the municipality has a stop at the railway Moret-Veneux-les-Sablons-Lyon-Perrache which trains of TER Bourgogne Franche-Comté of connections Nevers - Clermont-Ferrand is served.
