Saint-Aubin-le-Monial is a French municipality with 266 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Moulins and the canton of Bourbon-l'Archambault .
geography
The municipality is located about 25 kilometers west of Moulins . Neighboring communities are:
- Bourbon-l'Archambault in the northeast,
- Gipcy in the east,
- Saint-Hilaire in the south,
- Buxières-les-Mines in the southwest and
- Ygrande to the west and northwest.
A small ridge stretches across the municipality. This causes the small brooks in the northern area to drain towards the Allier towards the northeast, while the waters in the southern part of the Cher towards the west. The Étang de Chalonnière reservoir is also located here , but it is only partially within the municipality.
