The municipality is located about 25 kilometers west of Moulins . Neighboring communities are:

A small ridge stretches across the municipality. This causes the small brooks in the northern area to drain towards the Allier towards the northeast, while the waters in the southern part of the Cher towards the west. The Étang de Chalonnière reservoir is also located here , but it is only partially within the municipality.
