Toulon-sur-Allier is a French commune of the department Allier with 1,135 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Administratively, it is assigned to the canton of Moulins-2 (until 2015: canton of Moulins-Sud ) and the arrondissement of Moulins . The inhabitants are called Toulonnais .
geography
Toulon-sur-Allier is located in the north of the Auvergne in the historic province of Bourbonnais about six kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Moulins on the banks of the Allier , which borders the municipality to the west. Toulon-sur-Allier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Moulins in the north, Montbeugny in the east, Neuilly-le-Réal in the south-east, Bessay-sur-Allier in the south, Chemilly in the west and south-west and Bressolles in the west and north-west.
Moulins-Montbeugny airfield is largely located in the municipality. This is where routes nationales 7 and 79 intersect .
