Beaulon is located about 26 kilometers east-northeast of Moulins in the Sologne Bourbonnaise landscape . The Loire limits the municipality to the east. The Engièvre and the Canal latéral à la Loire flow through the municipality . Beaulon is surrounded by the neighboring communities Garnat-sur-Engièvre in the north, Bourbon-Lancy in the east, Saint-Aubin-sur-Loire in the southeast, Dompierre-sur-Besbre in the south, Thiel-sur-Acolin in the southwest, Chevagnes in the west as well Paray-le-Frésil in the north-west.
