Vaumas is located about 38 kilometers north-northeast of Vichy and about 26 kilometers east-southeast of Moulins . Vaumas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre in the north, Saligny-sur-Roudon in the east, Saint-Léon in the southeast, Châtelperron in the south, Thionne in the south and southwest, Mercy in the west, and Chapeau and Thiel-sur- Acolin in the northwest.
