Meillers is a French municipality with 136 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It is part of the Moulins arrondissement and the canton of Souvigny .
geography
The municipality is located at about 350 m above sea level between Souvigny, eight kilometers away in the east and Saint-Hilaire six kilometers away in the west, on the right bank of the river Ours , which forms a small lake here.

- Saint-Julien church, Romanesque (built 1180–1248) in the typical Auvergnatian style , three aisles, main and side aisles , choir and tower Romanesque, northern transept Gothic (15th century), 2 chapels from the 19th century in the south, west portal with trympanum ( Jesus Christ in a mandorla held by two angels ) and figurative decorations (10 apostles - Judas Iscariot and Thomas missing; capitals with animals making music), inside with grotesque figures decorated capitals, a " Black Madonna " from the time of construction and a stone Madonna from 1687. The church is classified as a monument historique .
