geography

Cressanges is located in the north of the Auvergne in the historic Bourbonnais province , about 19 kilometers southwest of the city center of Moulins . Cressanges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Châtillon in the north and west, Noyant-d'Allier in the north and north-west, Souvigny in the north, Besson in the east and north-east, Bresnay in the east, Treban in the south and Tronget in the south-west.

Route nationale 79 runs through the municipality .
