Vieure is a central French town and municipality ( commune ) with 279 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Allier department in the north of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region .

location

Vieure is located in the fertile and wooded landscape of the Bourbonnais at a distance of about 27 kilometers northwest of Montluçon in the valley of the Bandais , which forms the Plan d'Eau de Vieure reservoir here . Vieure is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Louroux-Bourbonnais in the north and northwest, Ygrande in the east and northeast, Buxières-les-Mines in the east and southeast, Tortezais in the south and Cosne-d'Allier in the west.
