Tortezais is a French municipality with 175 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montluçon and the canton of Huriel (until 2015 Hérisson ).

Tortezais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cosne-d'Allier in the north and north-west, Vieure in the north, Buxières-les-Mines in the east, Murat in the east and south-east, Villefranche-d'Allier in the south and south-west and Sauvagny in the west.
