Isle-et-Bardais is a French municipality with 272 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Allier in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Montluçon and the canton of Bourbon-l'Archambault (until 2015: canton of Cérilly ).

Isle-et-Bardais is about 43 kilometers west-northwest of Allier . Isle-et-Bardais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bessais-le-Fromental in the north, Valigny in the north and northeast, Couleuvre in the east, Cérilly in the south, Saint-Bonnet-Tronçais in the west and Ainay-le-Château in the northwest.
