Bessais-le-Fromental is a French municipality with 312 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond and the canton of Dun-sur-Auron (until 2015: canton of Charenton-du-Cher ). The inhabitants are called Bessaisiens .

Bessais-le-Fromental is located about 45 kilometers south-southeast of Bourges . Bessais-le-Fromental is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bannegon in the north and north-west, Neuilly-en-Dun in the north and north-east, Saint-Aignan-des-Noyers in the east, Valigny in the south and south-east, Isle-et-Bardais in the south, Ainay-le-Château in the southwest and Vernais in the west.
