Marçais is a French municipality with 282 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond and the canton of Saint-Amand-Montrond .

Marçais is about 41 kilometers south of Bourges . Marçais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Morlac in the north and west, Vallenay in the northeast, Orcenais in the east, Arcomps and Loye-sur-Arnon in the southeast, Ardenais in the south and Saint-Pierre-les-Bois in the southwest.
