Huos ( Occitan : Uòs ) is a French commune with 489 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Gaudens and the association of communes Pyrénées Haut Garonnaises founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Huosais .
geography
Huos is located on the right bank of the Garonne on the edge of the Pyrenees in the historic province of Comminges , about halfway between the two cities of Saint-Gaudens and Lannemezan . The municipality, which is quite small at 4.09 km², extends from the Garonne including a river island in the north over a terrace only slightly higher with the village of Huos and smaller arable land to the foot of the Pyrenees in the south. Part of the hillside forest La Forêt also belongs to the community . The terrain rises steeply here and reaches the highest point in the southern tip of the municipality in Cap de la Bousigue at 702 m above sea level. Huos is surrounded by the neighboring communities Ausson in the north, Pointis-de-Rivière in the northeast, Cier-de-Rivière in the east, Labroquère in the south, Seilhan in the southwest and Gourdan-Polignan in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure
Eight farms are located in Huos (grain cultivation, goat and sheep breeding). There is also a garden cooperative ( Jardins du Comminges ) and many kitchen gardens.
The A645 autoroute runs through the municipality of Huos . Two kilometers west of Huos is the Montréjeau-Gourdan-Polignan train station on the Toulouse-Bayonne railway line .
