Aurignac is a French commune with 1,193 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Gaudens and the canton of Cazères (until 2015: canton of Aurignac ). The inhabitants are called Aurignacais .

geography

Aurignac is located about 62 kilometers southwest of Toulouse in the historic Comminges province . Aurignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Boussan in the north, Montoulieu-Saint-Bernard in the northeast, Alan in the east, Le Fréchet in the southeast, Auzas , Bouzin , Cazeneuve-Montaut and Saint-Élix-Séglan in the south, Peyrouzet in the southwest and Cassagnabère-Tournas in the West.
