Sepx is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aulon in the north, Cazeneuve-Montaut in the northeast, Proupiary in the east, Castillon-de-Saint-Martory in the south and Latoue in the west.

history

The discovery of a Roman urn testifies to a Gallo-Roman presence in the municipality. The name of the village could come from the Latin saepes / saepis , which means a closed place protected by a fence. In fact, a fortified enclosure is said to have been built during the Saracen invasions in the 8th century, as reported by a local author of a monograph dated 1887 (Archiv des Départements Haute-Garonne, BR4-505). The name of the place could have been formed from that moment on. In the Middle Ages Sepx was dependent on Bonnefont Abbey , the southwestern corner of which is on the territory of the municipality of Sepx. The village came in 1490 to the Duchy of Guyenne and the Sénéchaussée of Toulouse .
