Cazaunous is a French commune with 72 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). The inhabitants are known as the Cazaunousois .
geography
The municipality is located in Comminges , 25 kilometers south of Saint-Gaudens , at the foot of the Pyrenees and the Col des Ares .
Neighboring communities are: Arbon . Juzet-d'Izaut , Arguenos , Moncaup , Saint-Pé-d'Ardet and Malvezie .
history
After the higher-lying town of Campels (now in the Arbon area ) was given up due to a plague epidemic, the town of Cazaunous developed.
