Barbazan ( okzit. : Barbasan ) is a municipality and a spa town in the Haute-Garonne the Région Occitan (previously Midi-Pyrénées ) in the southwest of France . Barbazan was the capital of the canton of Barbazan , but is now part of the canton of Bagnères-de-Luchon .

The place with its 490 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is about 13 kilometers southwest of Saint-Gaudens at the foot of the Pyrenees .
