In the area around Bachas, many Roman ceramics, mosaic tiles and religious objects were found, which suggests a settlement in Gallo-Roman times. From the 13th century, Bachas came under the sovereignty of the Bishops of Comminges . This dependency continued until the French Revolution. In the 17th century, a third of the land belonged to three families, while 57 smallholders shared the remaining 40 hectares. A mayor was elected for the first time in 1790. From 1886 compulsory schooling, which had been in force since 1882, was also enforced in Bachas.
