Péguilhan is a French commune with 286 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Gaudens and the canton of Saint-Gaudens . The inhabitants are called Péguilhanais .
It was created as Commune nouvelle of the same name with effect from January 1, 2017 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities of Péguilhan and Lunax , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Péguilhan.

geography
The municipality is located in the historic province of Comminges , around 35 kilometers north of Saint-Gaudens . The municipality is irrigated from the Lannemezan plateau and specifically affected by the Gesse and Gimone rivers with the Lac de la Gimone reservoir .
Neighboring municipalities are: Nénigan in the north, Saint-Ferréol-de-Comminges in the northeast, Montbernard in the southeast, Mondilhan in the south, Boulogne-sur-Gesse in the southwest, Lalanne-Arqué in the west and Saint-Blancard in the northwest.
