Péguilhan is a village and a former French commune with 220 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the previous municipalities of Péguilhan and Lunax were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Péguilhan of the same name and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Péguilhan.
geography
The place is located in Comminges 35 kilometers north of Saint-Gaudens . Péguilhan is connected to the national road network by the D41 and D90 département roads.
Neighboring towns are Lunax in the northwest, Saint-Ferréol-de-Comminges in the northeast, Montesquieu-Guittaut (point of contact) in the east, Montbernard in the southeast, Mondilhan in the south, Boulogne-sur-Gesse in the southwest and Lalanne-Arqué in the west.

history
Péguilhan was the most important barony of the Comminges in the Middle Ages. On January 1, 2017, the neighboring municipality of Lunax was incorporated.
