Eoux ( Occitan : Èus ) is a French commune with 119 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Gaudens and to the community association Cœur et Coteaux du Comminges, founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Eouxiens .

geography

Eoux is located on the northeastern edge of the Lannemezan plateau in the historic province of Comminges , about 27 kilometers northeast of Saint-Gaudens and about 50 kilometers southwest of Toulouse . The Nère , a tributary of the Louge in the Garonne catchment area, flows through the 9.17 km² municipal area . Except for small remains of alluvial forest, the image of the community is characterized by large areas of arable land and meadows. The municipality includes the hamlets of Payroux, Les Carretères, Le Pioc, Guillanat, La Hillette, Couterou, Belbèze, La Houillère, Adoue, Les Mounges, Le Brouca, Doussine, Caritou, Percuray, Moudran, Armagnac, Le Moy, Le Moulin Daucède, Les Horguès, Lacroix, Les Cassagnès, Joiniquet and Le Pirou . Eoux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Fabas in the north, Peyrissas in the east, Benque in the southeast, Boussan in the south and Saint-André in the west.

Eoux is located off the main national transport routes. The A64 autoroute runs 20 kilometers southwest of the municipality . The train station in the small town of Cazères, 20 kilometers away, is on the Toulouse – Bayonne railway line .
