Christian Piquemal, 2016

Christian Piquemal (born December 17, 1940 in Huos , Haute-Garonne Department ) is a French general.

From 1994 to 1999 he was in command of the Foreign Legion . On February 6, 2016, he was arrested in Calais for taking part in a Pegida demonstration in which he had "the leading role" because, according to the authorities, the demonstration was "not resolved after a warning". His trial was scheduled for May 12, 2016. Marion Maréchal-Le Pen , Member of the National Assembly of the National Front and niece of Marine Le Pen , as well as Nicolas Bay , Gilbert Collard , Stéphane Ravieri , Thierry Mariani and Robert Ménard support Piquemal. Dominique Bussereau and Jean-Dominique Merchet faced Piquemal. On May 26, 2016, Piquemal was acquitted.
