Lannemezan ( Occitan Lanamesa ) is a French city with 5837 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the canton of La Vallée de la Barousse .
geography
Lannemezan is a bastide between the cities of Tarbes and Toulouse , on the national road 117 and the Autoroute A 64 north of the Pyrenees . It gives its name to the Lannemezan plateau , on which a large number of rivers have their source. The city itself is crossed by the Petite Baïse and Baïse Darré rivers .
