Bizous is a French commune with 110 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the canton of La Vallée de la Barousse (until 2015: canton of Saint-Laurent-de-Neste ).
The inhabitants are called bizousiens and bizousiennes .

Bizous is about 24 kilometers east of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the historic province of Nébouzan .

Bizous is located in the catchment area of the Garonne River on the left bank of the Neste , a tributary of the Garonne.
Toponymy
The Occitan name of the community is Bisós, which may have its origin in the name of an ancient country estate. It comes from a proper name Bicius with an unclear suffix .
The nickname of the residents of the community is Eths gaudinèrs ( German the Breiesser ). The porridge that is meant here is gaudinas , a porridge made from cornmeal that is mixed with milk or simply with water and is considered the favorite dish of the bizousiens .

Population development
After the beginning of the records, the population rose to a high of around 370 by the second half of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to around 95 inhabitants with short recovery phases until the turn of the millennium, before it has since grown to a level of around 105 inhabitants stabilized.

Attractions
- Invention-de-Saint-Étienne parish church ( raising the bones of St. Stephen ). It was built in 1809 with a baroque decor. Your nave consists of a nave with two side chapels .
