Campan is a French commune in the arrondissement of Bagnères-de-Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ) in the Central Pyrenees . Culturally, it is part of the Bigorre region . It has 1,332 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), was the main town of the canton of Campan until March 2015 and is now part of the canton of La Haute-Bigorre .
geography
The municipality of Campan is made up of various villages on the northwest flank of the Col d'Aspin . The place is on the Adour River . Nearby are the ski resorts of La Mongie , Tarbes , and Lourdes .
