geography

The municipality is located about ten kilometers south of Tarbes in the historic province of Bigorre on the upper reaches of the Adour River in the foothills of the Pyrenees . Neighboring communities are Arcizac-Adour in the north, vielle-Adour in the east, Montgaillard in the south, Loucrup in the southwest and Visker in the west.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are five farms in the municipality (mainly grain cultivation).

The D 936 from Tarbes to Bagnères-de-Bigorre runs through the municipality of Hiis . In the city of Tarbes, ten kilometers away, there is a connection to the Autoroute A 64 from Bayonne to Toulouse . Tarbes train station is on the Toulouse – Bayonne railway line .
