Bagnères-de-Bigorre ( Occitan Banhèras de Bigòrra ) is a French commune and spa town in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ) in the Central Pyrenees . It is the seat of a sub-prefecture and has 7253 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Bagnères-de-Bigorre lies on average at an altitude of 558 m , with the highest elevation on the 125.86 km² community being 2,872 meters high. The place is on the Adour River . The famous winter sports resort of La Mongie is also nearby . Neighboring towns are Tarbes in the north and Campan in the south . The famous pilgrimage site Lourdes is about 20 kilometers to the west.

Attractions
In Bagnères-de-Bigorre there is a marble museum that emerged from the private collection of Jacques Dubarry de Lassale. It shows rare marbles and limestones from the French Pyrenees, other parts of France and other European countries that were used for decorative purposes (furniture, fireplaces, bathrooms). The collection includes varieties that were once of great artistic and cultural-historical importance and are now almost impossible to obtain.
