Loudenvielle is a French commune with 301 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the canton of Neste, Aure et Louron .

The municipality is located in the historic province of Bigorre , in the Pays d'Aure countryside .

The municipality's capital is on the Lac de Génos-Loudenvielle , which is drained by the river Lastie , which flows into the Neste du Louron near Arreau . The majority of the municipal area is predominantly impassable mountainous terrain at high altitudes and forests up to 2000 meters. As this is hardly populated, the overall population density is extremely low.

history

On November 15, 1504, the Seigneur de Montespan confirmed the municipal rights of the two parishes Loudenvielle and Armenteule . In 1806 Loudenvielle was reunited with Aranvielle. In 1975 the Lac de Génos-Loudenvielle reservoir was opened.

On January 1, 2016, the municipality of Armenteule was incorporated into Loudenvielle.
