Herbert Schneider (political scientist)

Herbert Schneider (born October 5, 1929 in Schneidemühl , † August 5, 2002 in Neckargerach ) was a German political didactic .

Life

Schneider grew up in Tetschen (Sudetenland). He studied political science , economics and public law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the University of Geneva . From 1951 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Cheruskia Tübingen . He was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. and Dr. phil. PhD. He was professor of political science and didactics of political education at the University of Education in Heidelberg and lecturer for local politics at the Institute for Political Science at Heidelberg University. From 1966 to 1973 he was the managing director of the Working Group of Citizens in the State . In addition, from 1972 to 1973 he was acting head of the state center for political education in Baden-Württemberg . He published numerous books.
