The Communauté de communes Aure Louron is a French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitania region . It was founded on December 26, 1995 and currently comprises 46 parishes. The administrative headquarters are located in Arreau . The association of municipalities is named after the two valleys Aure and Louron (both part of the Pays d'Aure ; in the Middle Ages part of the Armagnac region).

Historical development

The community association was founded on December 26, 1995 under the name Communauté de communes des Véziaux d'Aure . With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association took over the member communities of the dissolved associations

• Communauté de communes d'Aure ,
• Communauté de communes Aure 2008 ,
• Communauté de communes de la Haute Vallée d'Aure and
• Communauté de communes Vallée du Louron .

At the same time the name change from Communauté de communes des Véziaux d'Aure to Communauté de communes Aure Louron .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Beyrède-Jumet and Camous became part of the Commune nouvelle Beyrède-Jumet-Camous . This reduced the number of member parishes to 46.
