Bareilles is a French commune with 47 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the canton of Neste, Aure et Louron (previously Bordères-Louron ). The residents are called "Bareillois".
geography
The municipality is located in the historic province of Bigorre , in the Pays d'Aure countryside , about 40 kilometers southeast of Bagnères-de-Bigorre .
Neighboring communities are:
- Bourg-d'Oueil in the southeast,
- Ferrère in the east,
- Jézeau in the north,
- Cazaux-Debat in the west,
- Ris in the southwest, as well
- Bordères-Louron in the south.
The municipality's capital is on the river Lastie , which flows into the Neste du Louron near Arreau . The majority of the municipal area is predominantly impassable mountainous terrain at high altitudes and forests up to 2000 meters. As this is hardly populated, the overall population density is extremely low.
