La Guerche-sur-l'Aubois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Hilaire-de-Gondilly in the north, Le Chautay in the north and northeast, Cuffy in the east, Apremont-sur-Allier in the southeast, La Chapelle-Hugon in the south and Germigny -l'Exempt in the southwest, Ignol in the west and Nérondes in the northwest. The D976 runs through the municipality from Bourges to Nevers .
