Thaumiers is a French municipality with 417 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Amand-Montrond and the canton of Dun-sur-Auron (until 2015: canton of Charenton-du-Cher ). The inhabitants are called Thalmériens .

Thaumiers is located about 32 kilometers south-southeast of Bourges . Thaumiers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cogny in the north, Chalivoy-Milon in the northeast, Bannegon in the east and southeast, Vernais in the south and southeast, Charenton-du-Cher in the south and southwest, Le Pondy in the southwest and Verneuil in the west.
