The inhabitants are called Casalais .

Chezal-Benoît is about 35 kilometers southwest of Bourges . Chezal-Benoît is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ségry in the north, Mareuil-sur-Arnon in the east and northeast, Saint-Baudel and Villecelin in the east, La Celle-Condé in the southeast, Saint-Hilaire-en-Lignières in the south, and Pruniers in the south and west and Saint-Aubin to the north-west.
