L'Écaille is a French commune with 275 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Rethel , the Canton of Château-Porcien (until 2015: Canton Asfeld ) and the Pays Rethélois municipality .
geography
L'Écaille is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Rethel and 25 kilometers northeast of Reims. The place is crossed by the river Retourne . L'Écaille is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Roizy in the west, Saint-Loup-en-Champagne in the north, Bergnicourt in the northeast, Saint-Remy-le-Petit in the southeast and the municipalities of Isles-sur-Suippe in the Marne department in the south and Bazancourt in the southwest.
