The municipality is crossed by the Saulces river. Auboncourt-Vauzelles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saulces-Monclin in the north and east, Faux in the southeast, Lucquy in the south and the communities of Novy-Chevrières in the canton of Rethel in the west and Corny-Machéroménil in the northwest.
