Houdilcourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Poilcourt-Sydney in the west, Vieux-lès-Asfeld in the north-west, Asfeld in the north-east, Sault-Saint-Remy in the east and the communities of Boult-sur-Suippe in the south and Saint-Étienne in the Marne department -sur-Suippe on a short stretch in the south-west.
