Alincourt is a French commune with 150 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region .

geography

The D925 département road runs through the town in the Rethel arrondissement in the canton of Juniville, south of Rethel . To the southwest of the village are the forests of La Coulisse and Le Pré . The Retourne River runs south of the village .

In the village there is the Saint-Hilaire church and the Alincourt castle . The population of the municipality increased from 56 inhabitants in 1962 to 91 in 1990. After the number had fallen back to 78 in 1999, it rose to 114 people by 2007.

Personalities

The French politician Hilaire Flanders (1937-2004) was born in Alincourt and was temporarily mayor of the municipality.

René Bérenger (1830–1915), French lawyer and politician, died in the village in 1915.
