history
A two-hour tank battle between German tanks under the command of General Guderian and French tank units took place south of Juniville on June 10, 1940 . The French Char B tanks proved to be superior in armament technology and led to heavy German losses. Due to the German superiority, this brief tactical success did not lead to any significant change in the military situation. On June 12th, the German troops advanced beyond Junivile. The French counterattack at Juniville remained one of the few successes of the French tank units during the western campaign in World War II .
