Thugny-Trugny is a French commune with 266 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). It belongs to the canton of Rethel in the arrondissement of Rethel .

Neighboring communities are Rethel in the north-west, Doux in the north, Coucy in the north-east, Seuil in the east and in the south-east, Annelles in the south, Perthes in the south-west and Biermes in the west.

history

The municipality was created in 1828 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities Thugny and Trugny.

Attractions

Thugny-Trugny Castle was built as a fort in the 16th century. Today the building is privately owned and has been designated as a Monument historique since 1946 . The Saint-Loup church dates back to 1555 and has been a monument historique since 1920.
